Abstract
We have now further improved our model, presented in (P. Focardi et al., IEEE Trans. on Microwave Theory and Techniques, vol.50, no.10, p.2374-2383, 2002), and designed a complete new set of hot electron bolometer (HEB) THz mixers with center frequencies ranging from 600 GHz, to 2.5 THz. This work demonstrates that the new model is now accurate enough to be used not only for the analysis but also for the synthesis of THz mixers and circuits. The first section discusses the modifications to the original design as well as the last improvements introduced in the electromagnetic model. The following section presents a summary of all the measured and calculated data and provides some concluding remarks.
