Abstract :
This paper presented a simplified control algorithm of shunt active power filter. Only the load currents are measured in this control algorithm. The reference line currents, which are in phase with mains voltages, are derived from the phase lock loop, multiplier, and low pass filter. The compensated currents can be obtained by subtracting source currents from load currents. The complex calculations in the conventional instantaneous reactive power theory are not needed in the proposed algorithm. Three kinds of current-controlled scheme for generating compensated currents are investigated to implement the adopted control algorithm. The Matlab/Simulink software is used to simulate the proposed control scheme.
