  • Abstract
By applying fuzzy logic on ordinary geographical space and its spatial objects a fuzzy space (FS) will emerge. In FS gradual changes, smooth transitions, and overlaps in land use, soil types, topography, and other features of relevance for human activities on earth may be handled in a realistic and appropriate way. Hence, FS will significantly improve the possibilities for designing and implementing effective and versatile support systems for regional and urban planning.
