Abstract
It is well known that the performance of OFDM systems is severely affected by the nonlinearity of the power amplifier and the IQ imbalances of the vector modulators in the transmitter. This paper presents measurement results at 1.8 GHz and demonstrates the ability of the LINC technique to reduce the nonlinear distortion of the power amplifier, with 15 dB reduction in spectral regrowth. In addition, a digital compensation technique for the IQ imbalance is used to achieve an additional 5 dB improvement.
