            Abstract : 
The application of Preisach (P) operator to modeling and identification for hysteresis of a smart actuator is studied. The relationship between the discretization level L of the P plane and model accuracy shows that the higher the level, the higher the accuracy. It is shown by simulation that accurate identification results can be obtained with a P operator when the input frequency is below 5 Hz.
