Abstract :
In order to overcome the weakness of generic model control (GMC), i.e., its response profile is a pseudo-second-order curve, by embedding the process model into the controller, we propose a common model controller (CMC), so that the controlled system can yield the same response as a classic second-order system in the non constrained manipulated input and perfect model parameters. The parameters of CMC are of very explicit physic meaning and it is very easy to tune for the controller. The simulations for a nonlinear pressure tank show the effectiveness of the common model controller.
