Abstract :
A particular integral equation for magnetostatic problems is solved performing the hybrid cross approximation (HCA). This approximation technique is briefly compared with the fast multipole method on an electrostatic example. The relevancy and the versatility of the HCA is assessed on magnetostatic examples by comparison with the adaptive cross approximation.
