Abstract
A new surrogate model construction method is presented. The method creates the model directly from rigorous EM-response using the radial basis function (RBF) interpolation technique. The advantage of the RBF´s is the guaranteed non-singularity of the interpolation problem. Additionally, an adaptive algorithm is applied to minimize the amount of the support points needed to create model with requested accuracy. To prove the usefulness of the method models of different waveguide discontinuities were created and used in design of waveguide filter, as presented in the results section.
