Abstract :
We report the fabrication of tunable photonic crystal fiber (PCF) coupler based on the side polishing technology. The PCF coupler was obtained by mating two side-polished PCFs embedded in quartz block. By adjusting the mating angle between the blocks, the coupling ratio could be adjusted from 0 to 90 percent. The spectrum of coupled light was rather flat over a 400 nm wavelength range with small ripples.
