Abstract :
We report on the crystal growth, upconversion, and IR emission properties of Er:KPb/sub 2/Br/sub 5/ and Nd:KPb/sub 2/Br/sub 5/ for potential solid-state laser applications. The obtained results will be compared to Er and Nd doped KPb/sub 2/Cl/sub 5/.
