Abstract :
Temperature distribution modelling and measurement are reported for 400-/spl mu/m thick Yb:YAG/YAG composite structure with 2/spl times/2-mm/sup 2/ core area, 10-at.% Yb:YAG. Small focus shift and low astigmatism is demonstrated while absorbed power is in hundreds watts range.
