  • Abstract
Ultra-short pulses are generated by passively mode-locking an InGaAs/GaAs quantum well semiconductor laser incorporating a bend in the waveguide. Post-amplification of the pulses is achieved using a flared-waveguide semiconductor optical amplifier.
