Abstract :
For short and medium reach network applications, we propose a low-cost and high performance integrated laser-electroabsorption modulator source. We demonstrate coolerless and isolator-free 10 Gb/s transmission over 25 km, for temperature ranging from 10 to 80/spl deg/C.
