Abstract :
We evaluated the performance of an OSNR monitor based on the polarization-nulling technique in a 120-km long aerial fiber link. Despite of the fast and slow fluctuations in state of polarization in aerial fiber, OSNR was measured within an accuracy of better than /spl plusmn/1 dB.
