Abstract :
This study discusses the progress of nanophotonics with photonic crystal concepts. This technology has provided researchers with new design, fabrication, and characterization tools to explore a wide range of applications. The progress in this area has been due in no small measure to the availability of novel materials processing techniques that have been developed to fabricate new devices with precise control over the random variability limited to a few nanometers.
