Abstract :
This study investigates tunable and nonlinear 3-D photonic crystals of nano-liquid crystal droplets in polymer matrix. A four-coherent UV laser beam set up generated by a compact beam splitting device is used in the fabrication of the photonic crystal structure. After employing a relatively short exposure, the resultant 3-D periodic structures of liquid crystals and optically cured polymer matrix exhibit very good optical quality with low scattering loss, and show high Bragg diffraction and selective angular reflection properties.
