Abstract :
A microstructure replication technique to make a high contrast micro-cell LCD has been developed. The robust microstructure can sustain the cell gap very well. Compared with the traditional photopolymerisation-induced phase separation, the micro-cell LCD has higher contrast ratio and more reliable manufacturing process. This technique could be applied in the high performance and low cost flexible LCDs.
