  • Abstract
    This paper presents a new digital scheme for the rotor position estimation of a sinusoidal PMSM using three symmetrical locked Hall effect position sensors and then errors are analyzed. The proposed scheme is implemented on an Altera low-cost FPGA, where placement, routing and verification arc completed. Simulation and experimental results show that a higher position precision can be achieved in stable speed status. Besides this, its cost performance is also reasonable, and it can be applied to low-cost simple sinusoidal drives associated with other function modules or IP cores.
