Abstract
The proliferation of low voltage requirements in next generation systems is causing system designers to rethink their power architecture choices. With most new designs requiring a minimum of five voltage rails and requirements for more than ten becoming fairly common, new on-board power choices are emerging. This paper provides an overview of those choices and explores in some detail the intermediate bus architecture and its various components
