Abstract
In the new power system structure, reliability of the transmission network is a key parameter indicating success of this new environment. Although there are many methods developed for the reliability evaluation, they were implemented for the conventional power system. However, there are many different aspects between the power systems before and after deregulation. This paper proposes a transmission reliability assessment method for the deregulated power system. In this proposed method, the market models both pool-based and bilateral-based models are taken into account advantages of the proposed method are illustrated by an application to the IEEE-RTS 79 system.
