Abstract :
The approach is to observe the batch progress and use in-situ spectroscopic measurements to adjust values of model coefficients of the reaction system on-line, then to use the up-dated model to determine an optimum recipe for the remainder of the batch process. The methodology is illustrated using experimental and simulated semi-batch reactor data.
