Abstract :
In most petroleum refineries and petrochemical processes, further reduction of production costs is an important subject from the view point of international competition. In order to realize such a cost reduction, it is necessary to make whole plant stable. On the other hand, the DMC (dynamic matrix controller) is applied as an advanced control scheme in order to stabilize the whole control system. However, since the development cost is quite high, it is inapplicable unless it can fully expect an effect. This work presents a new PID tuning scheme, so-called one-spot tuning PID control scheme. According to the proposed scheme, the high control performance can be obtained with low cost and short development period.
