Abstract :
We proposed MIMO antenna signal processing schemes that combine spatial multiplexing and transmit beamforming based on the feedback of the channel coefficient matrix and channel covariance matrix. To combine the spatial multiplexing and transmit beamforming adaptively, we proposed weight determination algorithms in terms of SNR maximization criterion and mutual information maximization criterion. The proposed schemes achieve much higher mutual information and much lower BER than the spatial multiplexing scheme, transmit antenna array beamforming scheme and space-time transmit diversity scheme.
