Abstract :
We analyze, by means of link and network simulations, the gain in capacity, throughput and packet delay reduction achievable by using an advanced dual antenna interference suppression receiver in EGPRS terminals. EGPRS is the enhanced packet radio system of the GSM standard. We focus on a small macrocellular environment with severe cochannel interference, which is the most capacity limited scenario. The results show significant gains from interference suppression and diversity.
