Abstract :
We proposed a new modified scheduling algorithm, applicable to cdma2000 1xEV-DO systems. The proposed algorithm supplements the existing algorithm with a weighting factor. With the proposed algorithm, we can achieve the differentiation of users according their classes. The performance of the proposed algorithm depends on the design of the weighting factor distribution among users. We classified users into 4 classes and performed simulations with a simple weighting factor distribution. It is shown from simulations that the proposed scheduling algorithm can accommodate various QoS policies, including the existing one without a QoS policy. A high class user who wants to be provided with a prioritized service, in spite of high service cost, can experience higher throughput than a low class user. However, this is accompanied by a slight degradation of system throughput.
