Abstract :
This paper reports on a successful attempt to develop and verify, through practical experiment, a complete model of a fewelement smart antenna utilising analogue beam-forming network (BFN). Various aspects of the hardware implementation of the BFN are analysed and a model of the smart antenna accounting for array mutual couplings and BFN scattering parameters is presented. Results of smart antenna performance in different electromagnetic conditions are shown.
