Abstract :
A 6-element horn-shaped slot array antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide is proposed to possess a wide impedance bandwidth and stable radiation characteristics simultaneously. A prototype array is designed and implemented for the 5-GHz WLAN access points. The measured 10-dB return loss bandwidth is 19.5% (5.14-6.25 GHz), and the in-band maximal antenna gains lie in the range of 8.6-10.7 dBi. The measured radiation patterns are shown to be satisfactory across the entire operating band 5.150-5.825 GHz for both the IEEE 802.11s and the HIPERIAN/2 systems.
