Abstract
System dynamics is an important approach and theory to explore the behaviors of complex system. The policy optimization problems in a system dynamics model, however, still follow the "cut-and-try" method, and are difficult to get the optimal solution satisfactorily. This paper studies the policy optimization in system dynamics model. Firstly, a general formulation of policy optimization problem in system dynamics models is presented by introducing a control policy function. Secondly, based on the general formulation presented above, a way to resolve the policy optimization problem with genetic algorithms is addressed. This paper has great significance both on the development of system dynamics theory and on the application of social economic system policy optimization
