Abstract
This paper presents a novel approach of creating additional time diversity by using the existing Doppler spread and transmit antennas. The novel approach allows to increase time diversity without the loss of performance due to increasing inter-carrier interference (ICI). The time selectivity is artificially increased by applying at each transmit antenna a predistortion function to the multicarrier signal in the time domain. The increase in time selectivity is more favorable for the channel decoder at the receiver. The scheme could be easily applied in the transmitter as it does not need any changes in standardized multicarrier systems. The concept is investigated for a broadband MC-CDMA system.
