Abstract :
Downlink data distribution refers to the problem of distributing data from a base station to the mobile terminals within its radiation coverage. Because the condition or quality of the channel connecting a mobile terminal and its base station is not only time varying but also location dependent, fair data distribution on the downlink is a challenging problem and has received considerable attention from the research community. Data distribution is performed through a scheduler implemented at the base station. Elsewhere, we treated the problem for realtime traffic (Kuo, C. and Chang, J. F., IEEE ICCCN´03). We extend the treatment to a hybrid of both realtime plus non-realtime traffic. Numerical results show that our proposed scheduling algorithm has corrected the fairness problem.
