Abstract
This article describes possibilities to build human-machine-interfaces for modern and complex production systems. For this purpose an interface of a 3D laser beam welding cell is designed, based on a technological process description and considering the user requirements. This easy to use multimodal interface is extended by an adaptive support component that is based on action prediction algorithms. So the skilled worker who uses such a production cell can be supported and qualified during his work. Several results are presented that show that users can handle their tasks better with an adaptive support rather than a context based approach.
