Abstract
This paper describes the study and implementation of a new thermal based load sharing method for parallel converters. The current sharing loop controller using small signal modeling and stability analysis is reviewed. The effect of variation of components within their tolerance on the temperature of two parallel buck converters is presented. The same control method is extended to design the temperature-based current sharing loop. The algorithm details, the controller design and the implementation process for the thermal based current sharing control are discussed. Finally, the performance of the proposed method is evaluated.
