Abstract
UWB is a promising candidate for wireless networks delivering very high data rates at short ranges. The great capacity of a pulse-based UWB system comes from the extremely narrow pulses it uses, but the short pulses also make the UWB system sensitive to the effect of clock jitter. We introduce different multiple antenna UWB receiver structures that are robust to the jitter effect. First, a synchronous scheme is presented as a reference point. Then, an asynchronous receiver structure is introduced. We also study the effect of a fixed threshold and an adaptive threshold. Simulations are provided to compare the performance of the different receiver structures.
