A mobile location service demonstrator based on power measurements

Coupled with the unprecedented development of mobile communications, location services have been under study for a number of years. In this paper, a GSM mobile location service demonstrator based on power measurements is presented. The choice of this procedure is justified because the main interest here was to minimise the impact of the service deployment on the operator´s network. The procedure has been tested under real GSM networks in different environments and some accuracy measurements have been obtained.
