            Abstract : 
In the context of UWB (ultra-wideband) impulse radio, one of the crucial challenges remains the initial code acquisition, in the presence of noise and multipath propagation. In this work, we present a novel synchronization strategy exploiting the convolutional nature of the PCTH (pseudo-chaotic time hopping) modulation. Namely, a Markov chain describing the input/output relationship of the PCTH encoding scheme is used for recovering the frame synchronization.
