Abstract :
The hydrodynamic characteristics of air-suction system of oil are studied experimentally in order to suck oil with less quantity of water. The air-suction system of oil is set up with a high-speed air-fan, a separating chamber of oil from seawater, a suction inlet and transporting pipes. The desirable height of the suction inlet from the oil-laden seawater is determined concretely for the various inlets. The inlet height, determined here, achieves the higher flow-rate ratio of oil to seawater such as 50-100% according to the oil viscosity
