Abstract :
A method for model development and parameter estimation of an ion exchange process for desalination of water is described. The model is based on the countercurrent flow of liquid and solid into the process columns. A discrete time model is presented. The method is based on using the least squares approach. Matlab and Simulink software programs for calculating unknown model parameters are developed. The results are given and discussed
