            Abstract : 
Transport services and connection control evolution make it possible that voice, data and image networks converge into one unique network. The MEGACO/H.248 protocol is the first protocol developed as the cooperative effort of IETF and ITU-T, two important standardization groups. By using Petri net as the description technique, this paper shows the design, validation and tests of a MEGACO based next generation network (NGN).
