Abstract :
Substrate lens autennas have been - successfully applied in combination with quartz thin-film substrates for design of an automotive FMCW radar with beam-scanning capability. A series of 7IGHz radar prototypes based on commercial GaAs components have been fabricated and evaluated. In order to achieve lower manufacturing cost of such radar devices an IC design program for SiGe radar components has been initiated. A VCOprescaler combination for 24GHz has been designed and tested. Our latest development is a complete 77GHz radar tranceiver IC designed for a commercial SiGe process with fplSOGHz Transmission tine stubs realized on-chip using available metal layers have been employed in order to achieve optimum transistor matching required for operation at f >1/2fi..
