Abstract :
Microwave back-projection radar techniques using transmitting and receiving array antennas have been developed for wide-area surveillance. This radar system contains two leaky coaxial cables as an antenna array, one for transmitting and one for receiving. The radar detects a trespasser by measuring the EM field level, which fluctuates when a trespasser approaches the area near the antennas, and passes through the surveillance area. In this research, we succeeded in specifying a trespass point by using the spread spectrum technique. Results from a field test proved that the detection algorithm could detect the motion of a trespasser without experiencing interference from shaking trees or rainfall.
