Abstract
The reflection and transmission characteristics of guided modes in parallel-plate waveguides filled with one layer or multilayer chiral medium have been investigated by using a method, which combines the multimode network theory with a rigorous mode matching procedure. The formulas of the reflection and transmission coefficient matrix are derived. The numerical results for different cases are presented to demonstrate that the chirality and thickness of the chiral medium have significant influence on the reflection and transmission characteristics of guided modes.
