Abstract :
In this paper, a link budget calculation for the Ultra Wide Band Impulse Radio (UWB-IR) transmission is evaluated. The novel link budget expression is derived and the impact of the antenna gain as well as the waveform of the generator output on the received voltage is investigated. UWB time domain measurements were performed to validate the link budget model. Results can he used in the design and coverage of UWB wireless Communication systems.
