            Abstract : 
This paper proposes a half-wavelength lowpass filter using high impedance microstrips with defectedground for wide band harmonic rejection. The proposed configuration employs the high impedance microstrip line using defected-ground to achieve the ultimate high impedance micrc-strip line. The proposed low-pass filter structure has the spurious, which is due to propagating the waveguide modes of housing. A 2-D EM calculation for the high impedance defected-ground microstrip was performed to achieve an optimum metallic housing
