Resonant conditions of open-line resonators with defected ground structures and their applications

Resonant conditions of an open-line resonator with a DGS have been derived and investigated based on even- and odd-mode excitations. With this effort, size reduction of such a resonator can be revealed and the estimate of the first spurious frequency can he made. Finally, several filters are designed to verify the discussion and demonstrate the application.
