Abstract
Theory of a continuous-time dynamical system (flow) shows that choosing local cross sections properly symbolic suspension of an expansive flow conserves the topological properties of the original flow. We propose a simple method to estimate good local cross sections inspired by symbolic false nearest neighbors method to find the generating partition for discrete-time dynamical systems and apply it to the Rossler system. The relationship between local cross sections and template of flow is also considered.
