Abstract
This paper presents the results of an investigation of the equivalent salt deposit density, ESDD, on many types of insulators installed near the seashore of Thailand. The investigation results show that the ESDD of all insulators is independent of the period of installation but it is increased rapidly during the season storming-wind. Thus, the best insulator to be installed along seashore should have an appropriate shape and dimension to reduce the accumulation of ESDD, resulting in a lower rate of flashover, during storming-wind.
