Small beam-switched antenna with RF switch for wireless LAN
Abstract :
We propose a small beam-switched antenna using slot Yagi-Uda antenna design with an RF switch for wireless LAN (802.11a). The beam of this antenna is given quad-orthogonal directi~ly by using an RF switch to exchange director and reflector roles. Antenna size is 40mm square. Thickness is lmm. We include a description of indoor throughput performance using this beam-switched antenna. Compared with common omni-directional antennas, using this beam-switched antenna improves throughput more than 150%.
