Abstract
Traditionally, material properties are introduced in TLM by modifying the scattering procedure at the nodes. In this paper we present an alternative approach in which the material properties are introduced in the connection phase of the TLM algorithm. This is realized by the insertion of an inter-cell scattering feature. The proposed inter-eel1 framework is suitable for modeling materials with a wide range of properties, including metamaterials. We demonstrate and validate this approach by means of canonical examples.
