            Abstract : 
Custom Computing Machines have demonstrated their superiority over general-purpose processors in computation-intense applications. In this paper, we investigate the use of an FPGA system to implement an automated sensor self-validation algorithm for the Cupola furnaces. The details of the software algorithm and the hardware implementations are presented. The advantages and disadvantages of the implementation are discussed.
