  • Abstract
THz spectrometer to measure absorption spectra of solvated proteins is developed. The radiation source is a p-type germanium laser which delivers output powers of several watts in the THz regime (from 1-4 THz). Experimental results for different mutants of ubiquitin and λ-repressor which serve as prototype systems is presented and compared with theoretical studies using molecular dynamics simulation.
